Geochemical Map Map showing spatial distribution of geochemical data (usually rock, soil, stream or pan). Includes trench maps.
Geologic Cross Section Interpretive cross section of primarily geologic data. May or may not include drill hole information.
Geologic Map Interpretive map of primarily geologic information. May include mineralization, alteration and geochemical anomalies.
Geologic Report A report of a general nature that includes summary geologic or mineral related information about a property, region, or topic. May include some Mineral Exploration Reports, summaries of mineral potential of a region, reviews of previous exploration studies, oil and gas related reports and prospect evaluations.
Geophysical, General Non-specific geophysical information – includes reports and maps, and multi-types of geophysics (gravity, mag, seismic, etc.)
Gravity Geophysics Gravity related maps, reports and other geophysical data. Land Status – Claim Information – Includes Claim notices, Land Status maps, and other Land specific information related to mining and exploration.
Level Plan May include: Drill hole locations, Geology, Ore Grade, Assay Results, Alteration and Mineralization, Rock Quality/Engineering Data. Only generated for advanced projects where there is a lot of sub-surface data.
Magnetic Geophysics Magnetic Geophysical related data, reports and maps.
Map, General Maps that are not classified by any other category. These are usually undescribed in either title or notes. Some may be historic maps, others are unknown. Some are multi-type.
Memo Memos related to mineral exploration.
Mineral Exploration Report A report generally completed at the end of an exploration season that includes a complete report (usually with maps) and interpretation of data and results. Often referred to as an “Annual Report” or “Progress Report”.
Miscellaneous Papers Miscellaneous papers that don’t fit other categories – usually only peripherally related to mineral exploration. May include correspondence, notes, or other general information.
Notes Casual information related to mineral exploration, often handwritten, often included with correspondences and memos.

Physical Sample Thin sections or rock chips.
Property Exam Mineral Surveys and Property Exams. Not used consistently. Many property exams may be listed as geologic reports or mineral exploration reports. Prospectus-Submittal Report – Report that is primarily a proposal including summary information about a specific property or properties or a particular project, often promotional in nature. Not used consistently. Check also under Geologic Report.
Rock Sample Geochemistry Geochemical data, reports or maps specific to rock samples.
Sample Cards Sample Cards used when collecting rock, soil, pan or stream samples.
Seismic Geophysics Seismic related geophysical data.

Technical Report or MapIncludes reports and maps that cover specific technical subjects such as Petrography, Metallurgy, Mining Development related, mine specific Reports and Plans, Engineering Studies, Geotechnical Reports, Cultural Resources Reports, Archeological Reports and other technical, topic specific information that is not primarily geologic in nature, but is related to mineral exploration.
Topographic Base for Overlay Includes paper and mylar maps of different scales that are the base maps for many geochemical overlay maps generated by Anaconda. They were separated from their original reports by CIRI. When searching for geochemical data, look for the corresponding topo base to correctly display the information.
Well Logs Downhole Oil and Gas information.
